The PREVENT Waste Alliance is an international initiative of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The aim is to promote the exchange of know-how and expert knowledge on the topic of the circular economy at a global level. GreenDot has been part of the initiative since its launch in 2019, contributing its experience as the world's first Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) model for packaging. PREVENT has been part of the Global Action Partnership (GAP), a joint initiative of PREVENT, OECD, UNEP and WWF, since 2023. PREVENT is therefore an important and much-used resource for governments, academia, recyclers and NGOs in countries where waste management still needs to be further developed.

For the year 2024/2025, our expert Ursula Denison, Head of International Business Development, is co-leading the working group on EPR. The working group offers a wide range of webinars and expert discussions - e.g. on the implementation of EPR in other countries, the impact of EPR on the circular economy or the promotion of plastic recycling and the use of recyclates.
